This is a previous client of ours, back from the days we were on Edgebrook in Southeast Houston. I can clearly remember her and thinking she was in such a bad place, I honestly did not know if she would survive the week. The fact that I remember her in spite of the thousands of girls we have seen come and go since then is amazing. The day we saw her, she had slept in a fast food place the night before in the bathroom floor.
She was an addict, a prostitute and pregnant with nowhere to go and looking to kill herself and her unborn baby. Peggy, a counselor back in that day, was a good friend of mine and we worked on a plan to put in place immediately to help this girl. It was truly an emergency situation and we had to act fast to just find shelter and a safe place for her.
Tyra is now....well, I will let you read and see for yourself!

Last week Tyra came and spoke to the girls we have in our classes each week. We are working on having her be a guest speaker for our Center at a SPRING FLING lunch/event. We would like to have it in May if possible at a local church and invite folks from local churches to come and hear her testimony, share in boxed lunches and also have an opportunity to get involved at the Center.
Tyra has a book out and she will be signing the book at Barns and Nobles in March. Take a moment to read the link above and learn more about her story.
Friends, this is where we rest for a moment, knowing that we must never grow so weary we give up. We give all the glory to God knowing that our work is not in vain. We have been given a chance to see what God can do with the fruit of our labor and what extending a hand of love can do in the worst case situations. But even more so, how amazing to see what our Father can do with a lost little girl that no one would have given a second glance or thought there was any hope for, and a little Pregnancy Center in Pasadena Texas.
May His light forever shine through Tyra and all praise and glory to Him for never ever giving up on us while we are so lost.
Would you please consider helping us to promote this in your church as soon as we iron out the details on the location and date?!
Thanks for all you do in HIS name and for continuing to pray and support our work at the Center. This I hope will bring joy to you like it does those of us who serve every day and try to just show Christ to young women, just like Tyra.
